Terms & Conditions
Belarim keeps this page up to date so you always know what we do with your details, what we keep on file and what you can ask us to change. Read it once before you send a brief, and ring the shop if anything is unclear.
Last updated: this document is reviewed once a year and whenever our ordering or delivery process changes in a way that affects your information.
What these terms cover
These terms apply to every order placed with Belarim, whether you send a brief through the website, ring the shop or order a platter on account. Placing an order means you accept them. If something here does not match what you were promised in writing, the written quote wins.
Our quotes are valid for fourteen days. Prices move with ingredient costs, so a quote that has gone stale will be repriced before we bake anything.
Booking and deposits
A date is not held until a deposit lands. For celebration cakes the deposit is forty per cent of the quoted total. For platters we ask for payment at confirmation unless you have an account with us.
- The deposit confirms the design and the date
- Design changes are free up to seven days before the bake
- Changing the tier count after the bake week starts means a new quote
- The balance is due on collection or before delivery
Accounts are invoiced on fifteen day terms. Late payment on an account pauses new orders until the balance clears, which is not a punishment, just how we keep the cash flow straight.
Cancellations and changes
Cancel more than fourteen days out and you get the deposit back in full. Cancel between seven and fourteen days and we return half, because the ingredients and the slot were already committed. Inside seven days the deposit is gone, since the work has started and the date cannot be resold at short notice.
If we have to cancel for a reason on our side, such as illness or a equipment failure, you get everything back including the deposit and we will help you find another kitchen if we can.
Delivery and collection
Metro delivery is included on two tier cakes and above. Anything outside the metro boundary is quoted by distance before you confirm. Delivery windows are given as a two hour block and our driver will ring if the run is running late.
Once a cake is handed over or set up at your venue, it is your responsibility. Keep it out of direct sun, away from heat and on a flat surface. A cake that has been left in a hot car is not something we can replace at our cost.
Quality and complaints
We want to hear about it if something is wrong. Tell us within twenty-four hours of collection or delivery and keep what is left of the item so we can look at it. If the fault is ours we will refund, replace or credit, whichever suits you.
We cannot take responsibility for damage caused after handover, for allergen reactions where we were not told about the allergy, or for a design choice you insisted on that we advised against in writing.
Allergens and dietary requests
We list the allergens in each product on request. Gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free and vegan versions are available for most lines. Our kitchen handles wheat, dairy, eggs and nuts every day, so we cannot promise a product is free of traces, and we say that before you order rather than after.
Still need to place an order?
Cakes and pastry platters are made to order from our kitchen in Adelaide. Send a brief and we will get back within two working days.
